How it works

Three steps. A whole new perspective.

No 3D software. Just your space and a little imagination.

  1. DwellShift workspace with design tools and an image upload composer
    01Upload your space

    Every room starts somewhere.

Add a room photo, a sketch, or a floor plan. You can also start with an idea and tell DwellShift what you have in mind.

  2. A room photo and a design request in a DwellShift conversation
    02Describe your idea

Your words. Your kind of space.

Tell us the style, colors, and materials you like, and what should stay. Keep it simple, or work through the details together.

  3. Generated living room with walnut cabinetry, a cream sofa, and warm natural light
    03Generate & make it yours

See your room in a new light.

Generate your design, then explore the result. Adjust the details in the conversation and download the version you love.

Your space is next.

FAQ

A few things before you begin.

Which AI room design tool should I use for my project?

Every tool starts in the same personal workspace with General design selected. Choose Interior, Exterior, Kitchen, Floor plan or Style transfer in the Agent input area when you want more focused guidance. Your selection is saved with the project.

How do I start designing my room?

Choose Start designing to open your personal workspace. Sign in or create an account first, then create a project and upload a photo or describe your idea. Discuss the direction with the Agent and review the proposal and credit cost before confirming generation.

What kind of photo gives the best result?

Use a clear, well lit image that shows the full room or house, including its main openings and surfaces. DwellShift accepts JPEG, PNG, or WebP files up to 10 MB. Avoid heavy blur, close crops, and blocked views.

What image quality can I expect from DwellShift?

Clear, well-lit photos and specific instructions help create useful design concepts. AI-generated details, materials and proportions can vary. Compare the result with your original image and verify anything that affects real purchases or building work.

Will DwellShift keep my layout exactly the same?

Not always. Your photo anchors the room design, but a generated concept can still change details, proportions, furniture, or openings. Treat the controls as direction rather than a guarantee, and check important dimensions before making decisions.

Can I send a DwellShift result to my contractor?

Yes, as a visual brief for discussing your room design direction. It is not a permit, structural, architectural, services, cabinetry, or construction drawing. Have dimensions, materials, structure, and local requirements checked by qualified professionals before building.

Are my uploaded photos and generated designs public?

No. Uploads and completed results are stored privately and tied to your account. They are not added to the public Ideas gallery.

Can I edit or download a design later?

Yes. Open your saved project to compare results, download an image or use a result as the source for another design. Existing My Designs results can also be brought into your personal workspace. Generating a new result requires another confirmation.

How do credits work if generation fails?

Each output costs 5 credits, and your plan determines whether you can request up to 2 or 4 at a time. The total appears before you generate. New verified accounts receive 10 trial credits that expire after 14 days. Credits are reserved when a request starts and charged after a result is stored. Confirmed failures release the reservation. In rare cases when the AI provider status is unclear, the credits stay reserved while the request is reviewed. Active Unlimited subscriptions do not deduct credits.
